Streaky Bay Hospital and Health Service is run by the Eyre and Far North Local Health Network. The hospital has 10 inpatient beds and provides a range of services including emergency, general medicine, surgical care, basic x-ray and outpatients, rehabilitation and palliative care.
There are nine aged care beds for people requiring a high level of care.
There is also a 15-bed aged care hostel – Elmhaven – for people requiring a low level of care.
Community Health and Allied Health services are also based at the hospital site, providing services to the community.
This is a 24-hour service. When you arrive at accident and emergency, you will be seen by the duty nurse to collect information and assess your illness or injury.
In a medical emergency, it is important that you do not ‘self present’ to hospital. SA Ambulance Service emergency medical dispatch support officers can provide advanced first-aid advice over the phone while an ambulance is on its way to you.
There is disabled parking onsite.
The building is wheelchair accessible and there are toilets for people with disability. Please ask at Reception.
General wards: 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
